SAFEHOUSE: PRODUCT GUIDES

What protects against unsafe protection?

All over South Africa there are millions of sub-standard, unsafe electrical products on offer and installed in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Despite compulsory specifications to protect users, unscrupulous and negligent suppliers make these products available at great risk to users who buy and install them.

Perversely, some circuit breakers that are required to protect electricity users against faults in their system, are themselves subject to compromises in design and materials in order to reduce cost and will not meet required safety and performance standards.
